Terms and Conditions
These terms govern use of the SchoolUniverse school management software and the website at schooluniverse.in, operated from Upper Ashpeer, Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir 193201 (“SchoolUniverse”, “we”, “us”).
By creating an account, starting a trial, or paying for a subscription, the school or the person acting for it agrees to these terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, and the Cancellation Policy.
The service
SchoolUniverse is software for school administration, including student records, attendance, grades, communication with families, and related tools. Features available to a school depend on the plan that school is on.
The person who registers must be authorised to bind the school and must be at least 18 years old. Account details must be accurate and kept up to date. The school is responsible for activity under its account and for who it allows to sign in.
Fees and payment
Paid plans are billed in advance for the period shown at checkout. A free trial, when offered, ends on the date we confirm. If a paid plan is chosen after the trial, fees apply from that point.
Payments are collected through a third-party payment gateway. We do not store full card or UPI credentials. By paying, you confirm that you are allowed to use the selected payment method.
We may refuse or reverse a payment that is incomplete, incorrect, or reasonably suspected to be unauthorised. Access can be paused if a renewal payment fails, until the amount due is received.
Fees may change for a later billing period. We will tell the account email before a higher fee applies. Continued use after that date is acceptance of the new fee. Cancelling before the new fee starts avoids the new charge.
Refunds and cancellation
How to get a refund is set out in the Refund Policy. How to stop a subscription is set out in the Cancellation Policy. Those pages are part of these terms.
AI chat messages are consumed when they are sent, because each message is paid for with an AI provider at that moment. The price of messages already sent is not refundable and is deducted from any refund.
School data
Records, messages, and files a school puts into SchoolUniverse stay the school’s. The school must have the right to store that information, including student and parent information, and must use the service in line with applicable law.
We use that information only to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may remove content that is unlawful or that harms the service or other users.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service. That includes attempting to break into accounts or systems, interfering with availability, uploading malware, sending unsolicited bulk messages, or using the service to harm a child.
Availability
We work to keep SchoolUniverse available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance, outages, and changes to features can happen. The service is provided as it is available.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, SchoolUniverse is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. If we are liable for a paid subscription, that liability is limited to the fees the school paid to us for the service in the three months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Ending access
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, does not pay, or creates a security risk. You may stop using the service at any time under the Cancellation Policy.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Jammu and Kashmir have jurisdiction, subject to any rights that cannot be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. The date above will change. Continued use after the update means you accept the new terms.
